100% Natural…

I have been trying to eat and drink better lately… So I picked up some 7Up this past trip to the store to help curb my Soda/Caffeine Addiction… I have been seeing the commercials claiming it is “Now 100% Natural” — So I figured it’s be a good gateway Soda to curb my addiction.. So, What does 100% Natural Get you these days?

  2. 39g of Carbs
  3. High Fructose Corn Syrup
  4. Natural Citric Acid
  5. Natural Potassium Citrate
  6. Filtered Water
  7. Contains No Juice

I was a bit confused about how this could be considered all natural, so I asked Wikipedia.. And it gave me an answer…

While the FDA has no definition of “natural”, CSPI claims that HFCS is not a “natural” ingredient due to the high level of processing and the use of at least one genetically modified (GMO) enzyme required to produce it.[21] In May 2007, Cadbury Schweppes was still calling 7 Up “All Natural”.[22]

Snapple (another Cadbury-Schweppes brand) is well-known for being “all-natural,” but most varieties contain HFCS.

Yeah, being “natural” is pretty popular these days, but it’s not terribly regulated, either.

However, you might be glad to know that all the fuss about fructose is, well, mostly fuss. Check this post out:

Like anything, it’s the fact that popular foods today contain so much fructose that make it bad. Too much of anything - including water - can be dangerous.
